PTO’s Homecoming Carnival

Join Pinewood PTO for the Homecoming Carnival to be held Saturday, Oct. 22 from 12-4 p.m. The event offers food, treats, and a wide variety of attractions for guests of all ages. The Homecoming Carnival will take place on the back practice field. This event is now sold out – many thanks to all who pre-registered!

Girls’ Basketball: JV and Varsity

Conditioning will be this Thursday and Friday (Oct. 20-21) from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. We also will have conditioning next week Oct. 24-27 from 3:30 – 4:45 p.m. Try-outs for basketball will start Oct. 31. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Bulford.

Québec Trip Interest Meeting

A second Québec trip informational meeting will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. in Mr. Moreau’s classroom (Room 2 – between both gyms).

Halloween Grams – Now on Sale

Halloween Grams to support the HS Student Government Association are now on sale. No orders will be taken after Wednesday, Oct. 26. Please download and print the order form and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher. Halloween Grams will be delivered in homeroom on Friday, Oct. 28. Halloween Grams are $2 each and may either consist of candy or small toys.

Pride Lacrosse Clinic: Oct. 29

The next Pride Lacrosse Clinic (girls ages 6-13) is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on the football field. Cost is $20. For more information and to register contact Coach Andy Morgan at pridelacrossesc@gmail.com.

Attention Seniors

Jostens will be on campus Thursday, Oct. 27 at 7:50 a.m. in Smith Hall to meet with the senior class about graduation announcements. Jostens will return on Tuesday, Nov. 1 during HS lunch (12:50-1:20 p.m.) in Freedom Hall to collect orders.

Trident Basketball Information

Be sure to bring the completed registration form and all required materials to the evaluation date. All information is on the Pinewood web page under Athletics and then Forms.

Court 1: grade 5 boys

Pinewood: grade 7 and 8 boys

Wednesday, Nov. 2 – 7:15 – 8:30 p.m.

Second day try-outs will be held for grades 5 and 6 if necessary.

Photo Retake Day

Fall photo retakes will take place in the Eidson Gym lobby on Wednesday, Nov. 2 beginning at 8:45 a.m.

Anyone electing to have their photos retaken is to bring their first photo packet and the $5 retake fee directly to the photographer on November 2. Please do not bring them prior to that date/time.

Any student who missed the first picture day should have their photo taken on November 2.

This day is the absolute last opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to have their photo taken for the yearbook.

Wrestling Team Signups

Wrestling for boys in grades 6-12 will begin on Monday, Nov. 7 in Freedom Hall at 4 p.m. For more information, please contact Derek Ayers at dayers@dorchester2.k12.sc.us.

Community Service Hours Opportunity – Family Focus Night

What: Play board/card games with kids while teaching good sportsmanship skills. (Training and food is provided for volunteers!)

The Office of Naval Research’s Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program application is now open. High school students can open an application at the SEAP website http://seap.asee.org/.
